London Diary

I landed safely on 9th Dec at 7am. Came out at 8-30 AM. Came out and looked for taxis. Only black taxis were lined up. So I got into one and gave the address. He was a senior British driver.He drove into London city! Hurray! I am in London!! :) It was very cold out there and had tough time till I got into the cab.The drive had tuned the radio and I cude hear the Eng-SL cricket test commentary. He drove thru central city to take me to Dagenham. He was telling me that there was not much traffic on that day and I was lucky. The meter was running and I was getting anxious as to why the destination is not yet coming up. Almost 1 hour and meter was beyond 70 GBP! I had only 100 in pocket and was thinking if it goes beyong 100, what to do? Had an aswer that Laksmi may be able to help me one I reach there. On the way, I saw Thames river. Finally the place arrived! Meter read 95.x and I gave him 100, he gave me back 4 coins of 1GBP each. I didnt give any tip as it was already too much!! (My company usually does not reimburse higher amounts!!!) So knocked the door and Lakshmi alias Laks opened the door and welcomed me! It was our first meeting. Had a chat on the journey and other things.
